Why does the Brand Story matter to sales?

Story is the greatest weapon we have to combat noise, because it organizes information in such a way that people are compelled to listen.

Consumers do not make rational decisions when they buy. They make emotional decisions and then rationalize them with logic. Storytelling allows us to digest and remember content more easily because it helps connect information with emotions in a way that no other form of communication can.

Stories are a natural and compelling component of human experience, and they are 22% more memorable than other types of information. They make our brains wake up as they immerse the listener in the story itself, releasing hormones like dopamine, cortisol, endorphins, and oxytocin.

Brand Story Personas

Once you have an Opportunity, you’ll be required to choose the Brand Story persona for the account and describe why this contact/situation is that Brand Story Persona. We have identified the six most common scenarios you will encounter in your prospecting. This section will define which customer fits into these scenarios, what their key concerns are, and how you can use the brand story to solve their specific needs and close a deal.

The Bachelor is still seeing multiple audit firms but is finally looking to settle down with the one. They are sick and tired of working with different auditors for each engagement and having to repeat information across projects. The Bachelor is normally a compliance manager who is responsible for managing all audit related tasks, including juggling multiple relationships and responsibilities across multiple audit engagements.

The Thrifter is our budget conscious prospects that are concerned with one thing: the price. They are normally prospects who have experienced budget cuts, work at a start-up, have lost a major client, or they just don't understand the value of an audit. They need to know that cheap prices produce cheap results.

The Automater is still using spreadsheets and multiple tools to complete their audit. This scenario is for the person looking for a better way to do their existing audit. They want efficiency, technology, and integrations that make their audit better. They think automation is the answer, but it’s not. Audits are hard, but automation isn’t the way to solve that. The audit needs to be worth it, not just the tool.
